The island of St. Lucia has a population of approx. 170,000 people with approx. half of the population living in the capital city of Castries. St. Lucia also has a couple of other large cities that take a bulk of the population. These cities are  Vieux Fort and Soufrie're. Outside of the "big 3", the remainder of the population is scattered throughout small towns and villages.

St. Lucia has a sunny climate all year long with an average temperature of 85 degrees Fahrenheit.

The island sits in the Atlantic Standard Time Zone which is 1 hour ahead of the U.S Eastern seaboard. 

The island of St. Lucia is 27 miles long and 14 miles wide and is a delightful combination of beaches, mountains and rain forests.

The official currency of St. Lucia is the Eastern Caribbean Dollar (EC$). The average exchange rate is approx. $2.70 EC$- $1.00 US$although different places may offer different exchange rates.

The official language of St. Lucia is English but a French-based patois (pronounced Pot-wah) is widely spoken.
